4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!
d paragraph text here.
"Joy to the world, the Lord has come. Let Earth receive her king." This is one of my favorite songs for the Christmas season. This song is not just for Christmas time though, it should be sung year round. Walking with God and being in close relationship with Him should fill our hearts with joy always. The sad thing is that joy is a word that seems to be fleeting now a days. Over all if everyone was joyful this world would be a much different place. The problem today is that people expect other people to make them happy. Things don't work that way. If you live your life depending on other people for your happiness then you are going to have a life full of disappointment. We are not wired to meet everyone's desires and fulfill all of their passions and dreams. We have to take responsibility for our own happiness and fulfillment. If I am unhappy it is no one else's fault but my own. If you are unhappy it is no one else's fault but yours. I know that may seem harsh but it is the truth. You will not be set free from your bondage until you start to embrace the truth.
I want to share with you some wisdom I learned earlier on in my ministry. I use to go and cry to God about how unhappy I was and how I wanted Him to fix it for me. God said for me to stop having pity parties and to open my eyes and see all of the good and great things He is doing in my life and in the life of others around me. Rejoice means to share in the joy with others over the blessings that are happening. Now I look for how God is pouring out blessings. Not just for me but for individuals He has put in my journey of life. Since learning this truth I find myself smiling more and having a heart full of gratitude instead of pity. If you are unhappy look around and rejoice with someone for God is good, always! God is generous with His blessings just open your eyes and see.
